Mr. Tanmaya Mohanty

Mr. Tanmaya Mohanty did his M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering at REC Rourkela (Currently NIT)  in 1993-95 session with a specialization in Production Engineering after a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering from CET, OUAT, in 1993. In 1995 he joined Mid East Integrated Steel of MESCO Group. He during his tenure at MESCO Steel as Sr. Executive looked after Mechanical Maintenance, Spare Parts Cell and Project. A complicated skip car modification complying with Chineese design and Indian Manufacturers won him ‘Best Engineer Award’ in 1998. The three member project team of which Sri Mohanty was a member led the Entire Project of External Water Supply to the Steel plant which comprised of installing and commissioning of vertical turbine pumps and 22 km pipe line from river Brahmani to water reservoir at the Steel Plant.

In 1999, Mr. Mohanty started his career in academics at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology as Sr. Lecturer in Department of Mechanical Engineering. Besides teaching and Research Sri Mohanty has been one of the active members towards setting up state of art Laboratory for the School of Mechanical Engineering. Some of his publications at conference proceedings and book reviews won him acclamations from several part of the nation.  He guided seven Masters’ theses and 15 UG project reports to his credit. He was awarded ‘Outstanding Teacher of year 2007’ for his committed contributions towards development of the KIIT University. He was deputed as Principal of Kalinga Polytechnic in 2010 March. Under his leadership several student support schemes have been worked out and the march to progress is visible.
